About Bridget Verhaaren

 

Bridget holds an M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University. Her essays have been published in various outlets, including The Write Launch, Herstry, Exponent II, Streetlight Magazine, Solstice Magazine, Sonora Review, The Season (Center for Latter-Day Saint Arts), and Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought. She also won a nonfiction category prize in Segullah: Writings and Art by Latter-Day Saint Women and was recognized as a First-chapter winner at Writing Away Refuge.

Bridget Verhaaren was set up on a date by her late husband's childhood friend, leading her to meet and marry Dr. Gary Garner. Together, they have eight children and enjoy spending time in the mountains skiing, hiking, or at the lake with their VEGA (Verhaaren-Garner) Family.
